Para su primera exhibición individual en este recinto Lina Hincapié ha preparado varias propuestas que de alguna manera se unifican bajo el sugestivo título “La última vez”. Sus propósitos artísticos siempre han estado oscilando en la multidireccionalidad, ya que su curiosidad e intereses la han llevado a trabajar en dibujo, pintura, grabado, objeto, escultura, video e instalación. Al tiempo fue integrante muy activa del grupo “Casa Tomada” que programaba exposiciones, fiestas y eventos de diverso tipo convocando a sus compañeros de generación y a otros artistas de la región.

En esa práctica como materializadora y gestora se ha interesado por el género, la arquitectura, las culturas populares, el narcotráfico, el paisaje, la pornografía y la religión, abarcando un espectro tan amplio como rico.

El humor y el sarcasmo también han estado presentes en comentarios que emanan de su trabajo y en los contextos específicos en que han sido activados. La exhibición presenta obras que se dirigen a ilustrar sus intereses en tres aspectos básicos.

La serie de lienzos sobre la ciudad plantean el color como elemento dominante y protagónico. Su colorido diverso es un ejercicio de camuflaje que sepulta y disimula las formas iniciales y plantea más que una representación, un espejismo. Los objetos escultóricos que enseñan la Última Cena, según la composición del mural milanés de Leonardo da Vinci, pero esta vez en tercera dimensión, son la segunda propuesta.

Este referente religioso y popular se metamorfosea para aludir a universos distintos que incluyen estéticas relacionadas con la discoteca, la infancia, la diversidad sexual y el empoderamiento del kitsch como emblema de la cultura mediática.

“Las caleñas son como las flores, pero algunas flores ya no están tan frescas”, cita la canción de Piper Pimienta y al tiempo el nombre de una casa de citas, para titular un video instalación con imágenes de diversas intervenciones corporales. Cirugía plástica y prostitución. Corrección y sexo. Deformación y frustración. Todo esto se puede ver en las pequeñas pantallas que se camuflan entre plantas artificiales. Lina Hincapié no le da prioridad específica a ninguna de sus series, las propone como un todo tan diverso como exultante. Y esa resulta ser la medida de sus posibilidades orientada a tratar de desestabilizar la artisticidad mediante la atomización de la idea de estilo.
